Eden Prairie is where our shop is, in the office park between Prairie Center Dr and Flying Cloud Dr, so a refrigerator call here is the shortest trip we make. The compressor start relay and overload are trying and failing. We measure the compressor windings first to make sure the compressor itself is sound, then replace the relay from the truck. If the compressor has failed, we tell you plainly and help you weigh repair against replacement.
Meltwater from the defrost cycle cannot reach the pan because the drain is frozen or clogged. We thaw and flush the drain line, check the drain heater on models that have one, and inspect the pan and the water line to the ice maker for a second source of the puddle.
Humid air is getting in past a gasket, a door left ajar, or a defrost cycle that stopped running. On summer garage units, the humidity alone can do it. We check the gaskets and door alignment, run the defrost circuit, and set the temperature controls where they should be.
The evaporator fan in the freezer or the condenser fan underneath has worn bearings or is hitting ice. We isolate which fan, replace the motor from truck stock, and look for the ice buildup that pushed the blade in the first place.
The thermostat has been fooled by a garage that dropped below about 40°F, or the compressor has finally worn out from years of cold starts. We test the control and the compressor, and if a garage-rated unit or a heater kit makes more sense than a repair, we say so at the door.
